Project Overview
Project Area
The Lower Westerly Creek study area is located in the cities of Aurora and
Denver. "Lower" Westerly Creek is defined as the portion of Westerly
Creek from its outfall at Sand Creek to the outlet of the Westerly Creek
Dam within the Lowry Redevelopment area. This reach totals 4.2 miles in
length.

Project Goals
- Define hydrology based on previous studies.
- Create a current hydraulic model of the drainageway.
- Develop an up-to-date floodplain to allow accurate floodplain
regulation.
- Define a master plan of improvements to alleviate flooding.
- Justify costs based on a Cost-Benefit analysis.
